What we keep, and what we don't.

Last updated: April 2026

EchoCage is built around a simple idea: your voice is yours. This page explains, plainly, what happens when you use the site.

What we collect

We deliberately collect as little as possible. When you record and share a clip, we store only:

What we don't collect

Who can hear your recording

Only people you share the link with. Share URLs are random and unguessable, but they are not password-protected — anyone with the link can play the recording. Treat share links like you'd treat a voice message attachment: only send them to people you want to hear the clip.

How long we keep recordings

Recordings are stored for as long as they're useful. We may periodically delete clips that haven't been accessed in over 90 days to keep storage lean. If you want a specific clip deleted sooner, email us with the share URL and we'll remove it.

Who we share data with

We don't sell, rent, or share your recordings or metadata with anyone. The site runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure, which processes traffic on our behalf under their own privacy terms. We don't use any advertising networks, analytics providers, or tracking pixels.

Children

EchoCage isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the service and you'd like their content removed, please contact us.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete any recording you made by emailing the share URL to us. Because we don't collect identifiers, we can't look up "all your recordings" — deletion is per-link.

Changes to this page

If we update this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted more prominently.
